Our client is expanding their team based out of the York, SC to support a Construction business unit. They are a well known organization that works with some of the most recognizable companies in the United States. This role partners closely with project teams and customers to manage complex project financials across large, multi-year programs (90M+). The ideal candidate brings strong project accounting, billing, and cost analysis experience and thrives in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities Project Finance & Billing
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of complex monthly billings across multiple contract types
  • Reconcile contracts and track change orders to ensure financial accuracy
  • Produce and post invoices in customer and internal accounting systems
  • Assist with accounts receivable management and resolution of billing issues to drive timely payments
  • Monitor contract compliance and customer reporting requirements related to invoicing
  • Conduct monthly Key Project Reviews (KPRs) with project teams and leadership
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reporting for project managers and executives
  • Support monthly financial close activities and required project financial documentation
  • Analyze project costs and require explanations for variances, fades, and gains
  • Ensure appropriate justification and documentation for all financial variances
Procurement & Award Management
  • Lead project procurement planning efforts post-award, ensuring compliance and logistics alignment
  • Partner with project teams to execute procurement plans before 20% project completion
  • Perform monthly analysis of actual spend versus procurement plan and validate plan adjustments
  • Enter orders and create work orders to support service operations and project execution
Collaboration & Stakeholder Support
  • Work closely with project managers, operations, and executive leadership
  • Participate in weekly regional meetings and provide required financial data
  • Serve as a trusted financial partner throughout the project lifecycle
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in project finance, construction accounting, or contract billing
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience supporting large, multi-year projects preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively while also operating independently
  • Familiarity with P6 or Oracle/SAP would be ideal
