County Casework Supervisor - Local Government

In this leadership role, you will be required to maintain organization and structure to assist casework staff in their job performance duties. You will be responsible for supervising caseworkers who investigate allegations of physical, sexual, or emotional abuse and/or neglect or who are at imminent risk of the same. Work also involves providing direct case management services to abused or neglected children and their families in the home as well as in out-of-the-home placements, in order to ensure the safety, permanency, and well-being of children served.

You will have the opportunity to consult with other agencies regarding the treatment of children and families, ensuring agency and family goals are being met.

• Assigning work to caseworkers and interns
• Reviewing family service and child permanency plans
• Overseeing court-related documents and proceedings
• Providing skill development and training
• Participating in administration and staff meetings
• Determining status of child abuse investigations
• Monitoring and preparing state-required reports

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
• This position includes working evening and weekend hours, as well as performing on-call duties.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences;
  or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

• You must pass a background investigation.
• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
  • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
