DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a Youth Development Counselor Manager, you will plan, organize and direct residential care and treatment, as well as the social development and rehabilitation programs for adjudicated youth housed at the facility. You will oversee a safe, secure, clean, and comfortable environment in accordance with institutional and DHS policies and regulations.
Work Schedule and Additional Information- Full‑time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch.
- Hours may change based on operational needs.
- Travel may be required.
- Overtime as needed.
- Must be willing to accept employment at Loysville Youth Development Center and commute to this location in Perry County.

You will not have the option to telework in this position. - Salary:
Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $77,379.00 (before taxes). - You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. - One year of experience as a Youth Development Counselor Supervisor (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years of professional counseling experience with court adjudicated or socially maladjusted individuals in an organized program, one of which was supervisory, and a bachelor’s degree in the behavioral sciences, special education, juvenile justice, or criminal justice; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes two years of professional counseling experience, one of which was supervisory, with court adjudicated or socially maladjusted individuals in an organized program.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
