Medical Assistant - FT - Westchester at Hospital for Special Surgery.

Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Medical Assistant performs delegated duties related to patient care activities and procedures with a varied level of acuity. Qualified candidates are committed to exceptional service and display enthusiasm for working as part of a cohesive team.

• Prepare patients for exams and orient patient/family to the environment
• Confirm radiology services have been completed prior to physician visits
• Assist with disinfecting exam rooms between patient use
• Assist patients with way finding and transport (e.g., wheelchair) throughout the site
• Assist in managing patient information, uploading CD images and making copies of pertinent exams
• Assist with patient rooming tasks (medical history, vital signs, pulse oximeter readings, height/weight, etc.)
• Assist prescribers with procedures
• Assist with stocking exam rooms
• Ensure patient care areas are neat and presentable
• Provide exceptional customer service to all patients, visitors, and staff
• Respond to patient, visitor, and staff inquiries
• Additional responsibilities as directed

• A high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) and be a Certified Medical Assistant
• 2 years experience as a Medical Assistant/Nursing Technician/EMT or Military Corpsman with minimum 1 year experience in orthopedic practice or other surgical subspecialty in an ambulatory setting
• BLS Certification

The base pay scale for this position is $33.14 - $34.13 per hour. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The final salary will be determined based on factors including scope of role, experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination at the time of this advertisement and may be modified in the future.
