The Role

Join our dynamic team as a Laboratory Technician, where you’ll play a key role in performing microbiological and chemical analyses with the highest standards of quality. Responsibilities- Registration and analysis of test samples, including supporting activities such as the preparation and quality control of culture media.
- Accurately report test results to the customer and create Certificates of Analysis as required.
- Maintain high levels of hygiene in the laboratory at all times, including the cleaning and swabbing of equipment and laboratory as required.
- Perform routine internal calibration and performance checks of all necessary equipment, and arrange external calibration as required, ensuring records are accurately maintained.
- Report, record and investigate laboratory non-conformances, ensuring timely close out of all actions.
- Monitor stocks of consumables within the laboratory and ensure adequate stock levels are maintained.
- Participate in laboratory projects as required by the business.
- Maintain excellent levels of housekeeping and adhere to all health and safety standards at all times, including the use of PPE provided.
- GCSE, or equivalent, in English, Maths, and Science.
- A-Level, or equivalent, in a science-related subject.
- At least 1 year's laboratory experience.
- Computer skills – competent user of Microsoft Office suite. Experience of LIMS and statistical software desirable.
- Microbiological analysis skills – aseptic technique, pipetting, creating serial dilutions, sample plating, plate reading, preparation of culture media.
Hours:
Monday to Friday. 8.30am-5.00pm.
