Ward Manager / Nurse‑in‑Charge

To provide compassionate, safe, and effective care to patients under the supervision of registered nurses and other healthcare professionals. The Healthcare Assistant supports daily activities, promotes patient dignity, and contributes to a positive care environment.

• Assist patients with personal care including washing, dressing, and toileting.
• Support patients with mobility and help them move safely around the ward.
• Monitor and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
• Help serve meals and assist patients with eating and drinking.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in patient areas.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to patients.
• Report any concerns about patient wellbeing to senior staff.
• Follow infection control and safeguarding procedures.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges.

• Able to assist with patient handling and mobility; clear and compassionate communication.
• Experience in patient‑facing roles.
• Teamwork; works well with others.
• 1 year plus experience in NHS setting.
• Reliability; punctual and dependable.

• Shift work including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
• Exposure to clinical environments and sensitive situations.
• Requires standing, walking, and assisting patients for extended periods.
