Workshop Engineer

Alma Personnel are have been tasked to recruit for their heavy machine maintenance engineering client based around the Yeovil area of Somerset.

Brief:

- As a Workshop Engineer you will be responsible for the end-to-end maintenance and preparation of MHE. The role focuses on technical fault-finding and diagnostics (mechanical/electrical/hydraulic), hire fleet upkeep, and apprentice support. Candidates must be safety-conscious, detail-oriented engineers with a background in heavy machinery and strong administrative accuracy for job reporting.

Key Tasks:

- * Service & Repair:
Execute mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs on a diverse MHE fleet.

* Fleet Readiness:
Prepare new/used units and maintain the hire fleet to high standards.

* Precision Reporting:
Complete digital job sheets and safety documentation accurately.

* Mentorship:
Guide Apprentice Engineers to develop the next generation of talent.

* Safety First:
Maintain a clean, compliant workspace and follow all H&S protocols.

* Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying issues and suggesting practical solutions.

What You Bring

* Expertise:
Hands-on experience with MHE or similar heavy machinery.

* Problem Solving: A knack for diagnosing technical issues quickly and accurately.

* Efficiency:
The ability to manage your own workload and meet tight deadlines.

* Strong engineering skills, ideally within the Materials Handling Equipment (MHE) industry or a similar mechanical/electrical field.

* Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently and accurately.

* Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.

* Some travel may be required at peak times

Mon-Fri 7.30am to 5pm, 1 hour break.
