Overview
MPI has requirements for Aircraft Engineering Supervisors (Mechanical and Avionics) Wildcat to be based at RNAS Yeovilton, BA22 8HT
.
Approx. 38 or 40 hours per week contracts are available, Monday‑Friday. Shift work, with additional shift pay, is also possible.
Our client supports the Fleet Air Arm, including the Wildcat Maritime Force (WMF) based at RNAS Yeovilton, delivering services ranging from aircraft repair and maintenance to fuel delivery and off‑aircraft support services.
As an Aircraft Engineering Supervisor, you will be responsible for aircraft management and ground support for Wildcat aircraft. You will carry out contracted tasks in line with customer policy and regulations, raise any customer complaints or quality issues and business risks with team leads, and ensure compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and other customer policies.
Administration duties and ongoing training to develop your skills and knowledge are part of the role.
ResponsibilitiesKey duties include:
- Overseeing aircraft management and ground support for Wildcat aircraft.
- Ensuring customer policy and regulatory compliance is maintained.
- Reporting customer complaints, quality issues and business risks to team leads.
- Maintaining health and safety standards in accordance with the HASAW Act 1974.
- Completing necessary administration and participating in further training as required.
Minimum requirements:
- Minimum of 6 years working in an airworthiness environment and a minimum of two years hands‑on experience with Wildcat aircraft.
- Hold or be able to obtain a Certificate of Competency for Supervisory level.
- Formal training in the Wildcat aircraft and associated trade systems.
- A good working knowledge of the following:
- Wildcat Aircraft Engineering and Aircraft Systems (by Trade).
- Wildcat Aircraft Servicing and Support Equipment.
- Understanding of Lean Operating Procedures.
- Understanding of Naval Air Publications and Compound‑Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (C‑IETP).
- Health and Safety, COSHH regulations, Tool Control and Quality Practices.
- Engineering and Asset Management Systems.
- Completed or able to complete the Maintenance Human Factors Course.
- Understanding of rotary‑wing military aviation procedures.
- Understanding of Airworthiness Engineering Safety and Compliance under regulatory and legislative requirements (MAA).
- Capability to work productively, efficiently and effectively with initiative and drive under tight timescales and pressure while maintaining operational outputs.
- Ability to achieve SC clearance.
