The Senior Systems Analyst works as part of a collaborative team in the Information and Health Technology Division within the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority. The incumbent independently provides application, systems, and database support to ensure the delivery and support of health and social services programs. Supporting various Health and Social Services Information Systems, the incumbent takes a lead role collaborating on medium to large Information Systems and has a contributing role on other informatics projects.
The Senior Systems Analyst will be involved with the entire environment of the applications comprising the Health and Social Services Information System.
Key Responsibilities
- Knowledge of systems analysis and design, including broad knowledge of all phases of the system development life cycle.
- Knowledge of Microsoft server operating systems and database management systems.
- Ability to define requirements for new and existing software and requisite database development.
- Ability to support clients in the daily use of application systems and databases.
- Ability to estimate, plan and report project timelines, milestones, and progress.
Key Qualifications
- A relevant post‑secondary degree, and four (4) years of progressively more responsible related experience.
- A relevant diploma, and six (6) years of progressively more responsible related experience.
- A relevant master’s program, and two (2) years of progressively more responsible related experience.
- Relevant education can include, but is not limited to:
- Degree or master’s program in computer science.
- Diploma in computer systems technology
- ITIL, PMP or Prince2
- Relevant experience can include, but is not limited to:
- SQL server administration
- Crystal Reports
- T/SQL programming
- Advanced Power Shell scripting
- Windows Server Administration 2016+
- eHealth Applications
- Experience leading small to medium sized projects and working with project managers on larger projects.
