Community Care Assistant
Care Horizons – South Gloucestershire
Care Horizons is a growing, person-centred care provider supporting adults to live fulfilling, independent lives in their own homes and communities. We are currently recruiting compassionate and reliable Community Care Assistants to support our clients across South Gloucestershire.
SHIFTS: Flexibility to work between the hours of 8am-6pm with alternate weekend availability.
HOURS AVAILABLE: 10-15 hours part time (for now)

- £12.21 per hour – New starter (no experience required)
- £12.41 per hour – With NVQ Level 2
- £13.41 per hour – With NVQ Level 3
You will be supporting adult clients with a range of health and support needs, including learning disabilities, Down syndrome, epilepsy, type 2 diabetes, and hearing impairment. Support is delivered in a person-centred way, promoting independence, dignity, and choice.
Personal care requirements are very minimal or none
.
- Provide compassionate, person-centred support while respecting independence and boundaries
- Communicate patiently and clearly, adapting to individual needs
- Support daily routines including healthy meal choices, medication administration, and wellbeing
- Encourage and assist with household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
- Monitor and support diabetes and epilepsy in line with care plans and risk assessments
- Encourage social engagement and participation in community activities
- Remain calm and supportive during periods of distress, offering reassurance and positive encouragement
- Maintain accurate records and work collaboratively with the wider care team
- A caring, attentive, and reliable individual
- Drivers with their own vehicle and business insurance (essential)
- A respectful approach to supporting adults with additional needs
- Experience with learning disabilities, diabetes, epilepsy, or hearing impairment is desirable but not essential
