Support Workers (Female) - Frampton Cotterall

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an existing team of carers looking after a fun-loving lady who has cerebral palsy.
About the clientThe client is a 41-year-old fun loving lady who has cerebral palsy. She is dependent on assistance for all transfers and personal care. She communicates independently and successfully via an electronic speech aid. The client lives in her own home and requires care 1-1, 24 hours per day.
Pay and Conditions- £15.00 per hour weekdays
- £16.50 per hour weekends
- £146.52 per sleep shift – weekdays
- £148.02 per sleep shift – weekends
- 3 days paid sick leave.
- An NVQ (or equivalent) in care and recent training would be an advantage.
- You will have some experience of caring for people with physical and/or learning disabilities.
- You will have a positive interest in active rehabilitation and a desire to enable this person to reach her full potential.
- You will be female (Due to the occupational nature of the role. This post is compliant with Paragraph 1, Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 relating to Occupational Requirements.)
- You will be a driver with a full UK driving licence and be confident to drive the client’s car.
- You are a person with great communication skills especially with the client, her family and other professionals involved.
- You will have a DBS on the update service or will complete an enhanced DBS if successful. Initial DBS check paid for by us.
- You will have experience of managing others and knowledge of organising staff rotas will be required.
- Current training in the following areas:
Equality, diversity and inclusion, Health and safety at work, Control of substances hazardous to health, Fire safety awareness, Infection control, Food hygiene, Manual handling, First aid / basic life support including CPR, Safeguarding vulnerable adults, Safeguarding vulnerable children, Conflict management and Lone working.
Ideally these will be split between 2-3 people.

- Tues – night - 20:00- 08:00
- Thurs - PM - 12:45 - 20:15
- Fri – AM - 7:45 - 13:00
- Sat – AM - 7:45 - 13:00
- Sat – PM

- Mon – AM - 7:45 - 13:00
- Mon – PM - 12:45 - 20:15
- Tues - PM - 12:45 - 20:15
