Industrial Painter - Day Shift
ASTEC – Day Shift position.

This position is Sign‑On Bonus eligible.
What You’ll Do- Operate hand, power, and air tools (grinders, wrenches, hammer, cutting torches, drills, punches, tape measure). Operate forklifts, overhead hoists, and cranes with rigging equipment.
- Use a computer mouse to open and close computer documents.
- Operate paint sprayer or other equipment to apply industrial paint on metals or products using air‑assisted airless spraying and electrostatic powder coat systems.
- Monitor work to ensure desired results.
- Ensure all materials are labeled accurately.
- Clean, shot blast, and prepare equipment surfaces for painting.
- Inspect all products to ensure they follow ASTEC’s guidelines.
- Accomplish all daily painting production requirements and complete assigned paint tasks efficiently.
- Ensure painting assignments are properly completed regarding quality assurance, using correct materials and equipment.
- Use paint spray and shot blast equipment in various positions and perform manual painting when needed.
- Follow safe work practices and adhere to safety procedures.
- Check production schedule or shop request list and plan work tasks.
- Apply primer and finish coats with attention to safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Mix and match paint to achieve correct finish.
- Clean and maintain spray guns, shot blasters, and other painting equipment.
- May work with unpleasant or toxic fumes; wear protective and safety equipment.
- Spend a substantial portion of work time spray painting.

- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Heavy industrial equipment painting experience preferred
- Detail‑oriented, good workmanship, following direction with little to no supervision
- Strong problem‑solving skills desired
- Ability to operate paint spray and shot blasting equipment, mixing equipment, booth equipment
- Capability to work from ladders, lifts, etc., to apply various paints and coatings
- Ability to select appropriate coatings, paints, or sprays and prepare them by mixing in correct ratios using automated paint mixing equipment
- Experience with scissors lift, forklift, and overhead crane preferred
