This is a full‑time position with the Department of Corrections. The pharmacy team provides pharmaceutical care for patients across the South Dakota state prison facilities. The role assists pharmacists in processing medications for distribution, filling and restocking automated dispensing machines, maintaining daily operations, checking inventory, running Autopack and DOSIS machines, and handling daily medication orders from the wholesaler. The position requires working with hazardous medications with proper safety precautions.
All work is checked by a registered pharmacist.
Work schedules vary with operations to ensure coverage for daytime shifts. The full‑time position guarantees 40 hours per week, Monday – Saturday.
Licenses and CertificationsSuccessful applicant must be certified nationally or pass the certification exam within two years of hire and hold technician registration with the South Dakota Board of Pharmacy within 30 days.
