Overview

Avera Medical Group is seeking a BE/BC Radiation Oncologist to join a highly integrated Radiation Oncology Service Line team of 7 physicians serving six Avera Cancer Institutes spanning a footprint of 72,000 square miles in SD and southwest Minnesota.

Opportunity will provide service to the Avera Cancer Institutes in Yankton, SD.

• Avera Cancer Institute Yankton - Radiation Oncology currently features:
• VMAT, IMRT & 3D Conformal External Beam Radiation Therapy
• Monday–Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
• Raystation/MIM Treatment Planning
• Elekta Infinity Accelerator and Mosaiq EMR

• New Comprehensive Cancer Center will open in early 2026
• Newly renovated facility will offer medical oncology, radiation oncology with a newly installed Varian True Beam, chemotherapy infusion, clinical research, pharmacy, laboratory, chapel/meditation room, wig salon, genetic counseling and other support services.

• Single Radiation Oncology EMR and Treatment Planning Software across all six Radiation Oncology sites

  Chart Rounds, Multidisciplinary Conferences in a wide variety of diseases, Clinical Quality Review, Service line Steering Committees and Cancer Committee

• 1:8 Service Line weekend call rotation, first call is taken by our Avera Cancer Institute Navigation Center
• 24/7 Oncology Nursing first-call coverage through the navigation center
