** Overview:

March 10,2026 We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Extra Help Intern to support our team with assisting probation counselors with various tasks, filing/data entry, shadowing supervision appointments, processing treatment reports, and may be assigned to special court projects. This internship provides hands-on experience and an opportunity to develop valuable skills in the practices and procedures of misdemeanant court community supervision.

** Responsibilities:

* Job Responsibilities:
**** Filing/Data Entry:
** File treatment reports, petitions, and monthly check-in forms into the unit's Case Management System.
** Attend Court proceedings**: May attend Court proceedings for failure to comply hearings and Therapeutic Court sessions.
** Shadow probation appointments:
** Attend intake, assessment, and supervision appointments. Exposure to risk assessment tools and the risk, need, and responsivity process. Will observe how to create case plans and use motivational interviewing with clients.
** Community collaboration:
** Interact with community partners, treatment agencies, law enforcement officials, and Court professionals.
** System operations:
** Learn to use and become proficient with the unit's case management system, Law Base, and other Court programs; JABS, JBRS, On Base, Box, etc.
** Additional Duties as assigned:
** May be asked to assist in special projects

* Qualifications:
***
* Education and Experience:
*** Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of an accredited college program in relevant field:
** Law and Justice, Psychology/Sociology or Social Work
**** Skills and
Competencies:
*** Familiar with basic computer programs;
Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
* Maintain confidentiality
* Teamwork
* * Additional Requirements or Preferred
Skills:
*** Must have an interest in working in Law and Justice
* Must have an interest in social work with justice involved individuals
** Equipment Used:
** Office equipment; which includes telephone, computer, copier and scanner.

** Sedentary Work:
