Join our team as a Relief Medical Receptionist at Yakima Medical‑Dental Clinic in Yakima, WA! Be part of a healthcare organization that believes in making a difference beyond medical care. We are a leading community health center in the Pacific Northwest with 40+ clinics across Washington and Oregon, offering a wide range of services such as medical, dental, pharmacy, orthodontia, nutritional counseling, autism screening, and behavioral health.
Our holistic model also supports shelter, energy, weatherization, HIV and AIDS counseling, home visits, and mobile medical/dental clinics.
- $17.31‑$21.20 DOE with the ability to go higher for highly experienced candidates
- Answer the phone, transfer calls and take messages as needed for the clinic.
- Greets patients and maintains patient and visitor log, notifying the appropriate person of the patient’s arrival and providing translation services as needed.
- Ensures accurate and complete data and forms are collected for all patients; creates and maintains patient charts, registers new patients, and updates patient data in the computer.
- Schedules patient appointments according to guidelines, appointment type, and time needed; notifies the provider of all no‑shows and cancellations; adjusts and updates the schedule for cancellations, new patients, and recall appointments.
- Verifies patient insurance eligibility, obtains and files insurance documentation, and assists patients with insurance plan questions.
- Reviews and responds to patients’ questions in person, via phone, and through patient portal systems.
- May perform routine billing functions such as posting patient encounters, encouraging payment, taking payments, and generating end‑of‑day reports.
- Reviews cash box receipts and reconciles the cash box daily.
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
- One year's experience as a Receptionist in a clinic preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required at level 9.
- Ability to prioritize work and handle a variety of tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to interact with patients, providers, and staff in a professional manner.
- Ability to deliver outstanding customer service.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology desired.
- Basic knowledge of healthcare billing and insurance desired.
- Basic proficiency with a variety of computer programs including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
