The Surgical Technologist II demonstrates expert knowledge and proficiency in all specialties (must complete skill competency checklist for department). The Surgical Technologist II functions as a primary preceptor for training students and new/current staff members. Demonstrates leadership abilities and serves as a mentor/role model for surgical staff. The Surgical Technologist II assists with the preparation of supplies and equipment, patient preparation and scrubbing, and assists the Surgeon during surgical intervention.
ESSENTIALRESPONSIBILITIES
Education: Associate's Degree or technical Surgical Technologist degree required. Related experience may be substituted in lieu of education; minimum 15 years' experience required for education substitution.
Experience: Experience as a Surgical Technologist for minimum of three (3) years. Completes necessary competency sign-off for Surgical Technologist II.
Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Washington State (DOH) Surgical Technologist licensure required. American Heart Association BLS required. Certified Surgical Technologist with the National Board of Surgical Technology preferred. Washington State (DOH) Nursing Assistant-Registered preferred.
