Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU) was founded as a 501(c)(3) non-profit medical institution in 2005 aimed at increasing access to health care in medically underserved areas of the Pacific Northwest. The University currently offers the degrees of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Doctor of Dental Medicine, Master of Arts in Medical Science, and Master of Science in Occupational Therapy enrolling over 550 students annually with plans to develop other programs and/or colleges.
Interprofessional education partnerships with other universities adds another 100 students to the population. The campus includes 300 employees with academic programming spread over a five-state region. PNWU is located in Yakima, WA, a city of approximately 95,000 located in the south-central part of the state near the eastern slopes of the Cascade Mountains in a major agricultural and outdoor recreation region.

The Assistant/Associate/Professor will teach assigned courses in the COM curriculum and report to the Chair of Family Medicine/Osteopathic Principles and Practice. The Osteopathic Principles and Practice Division is part of the Department of Family Medicine and Osteopathic Principles and Practice. The department is made up of a vibrant group of faculty and staff dedicated to the integration of osteopathic principles into the fundamentals of medical education and to teaching our next generation of osteopathic physicians' clinical skills and reasoning, osteopathic foundations and techniques, humanism, and preventive medicine.
Full‑time faculty are given one day per week to attend clinic if they choose.

- Assist in the recruitment and registration of students

- Maintain an appropriate number of office hours

- May be required to maintain clinical practice; university prefers active practice and supports this with paid time away

- Other duties as assigned
- Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from a COCA‑accredited College of Osteopathic Medicine and active medical license
- Board Certification in Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine preferred; any specialty with related experience in OMT will be considered
- Training and experience in the practice and teaching of OMT
- Credentials in scholarly, professional, and/or individual achievement commensurate with academic rank
- Professional experience with a record of achievement commensurate with academic rank
