The courses, learning activities, and resources provided to you in our pharmacy technician training program are designed to give you foundational and advanced knowledge, skills, and on‑the‑job experiences you need to prepare to become a certified pharmacy technician.

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision, performing duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist with and coach pharmacy technicians in the operation of pharmacy systems and cash registers.
• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, engaging customers and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience.
• Assist with inventory management activities, maintain accurate records, and support scheduling and workflow.
• Handle telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians.
• Participate in clinical services as required, such as collecting and labeling biological samples.
• Maintain relationships with local medical community and assist in outreach.
• Follow Walgreens policy and procedures, maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.

• Engage customers by greeting, offering assistance, and resolving issues to ensure satisfaction.
• Share best customer service practices with team members and uphold Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with most valuable customers.

• Assist in pharmacy operations under pharmacist supervision, ensuring compliance with Walgreens Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
• Enter patient and drug information accurately, verify medication, and check for interactions.
• Report prescription errors promptly and adhere to policies in related error handling.
• Adhere to Good Faith Dispensing policy during dispensing activities.
• Register all sales at assigned cash register and handle cash.
• Process third‑party prescription services claims promptly and efficiently.
• Support inventory management: ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments.
• Assist with clinical services and coordination with Walgreens healthcare clinics.
• Support relationships with local medical community, outreach to providers and facilities.
• Maintain a clean, stocked pharmacy department and comply with all policies.

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or state required certification/registration. PTCB certification is a condition of promotion to senior technician.
