The Director of Information Technology is responsible for leading the County’s information technology (IT) operations, strategy, and cybersecurity initiatives. This role involves overseeing IT infrastructure, ensuring the secure and efficient use of technology, and safeguarding the organization against cyber threats. The Director will work closely with County administration and elected officials to align IT practices with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
Job Type: Full-Time; M-F, 7:30-4:30
Closing Date: Continuous or Open Until Filled
Salary: $90,000-$125,486
Essential Functions:- Lead and manage the County’s Information Technology Department, including staff supervision, budgeting, and strategic planning
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the County’s network and voice infrastructure, cybersecurity protocols, and enterprise systems
- Collaborate with County leadership and elected officials to identify technology needs and deliver effective, scalable solutions.
- Promote and implement best practices for IT governance, data management, and system integration.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies related to information technology and security
This is a supervisory position of department staff and temporary employees assigned to the Auditor’s Office Data Processing division. The Information Technology Director is directly responsible for establishing work rules and performance standards; resolving grievances and other sensitive personnel matters; providing for the training and motivation of subordinates to make full use of individual capabilities and to meet changing system demands.

As time allows this position may be tasked with performing related duties at the discretion of the County Auditor. Related duties as required are duties that may not be specifically listed in the position description but are within the general occupational series and responsibility level typically associated with the employee’s classification of work.
Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive IT leadership experience
- Demonstrated success in managing IT teams, projects and budgets
- Strong knowledge of network architecture, hardware virtualization, cybersecurity, cloud services, and enterprise software systems
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead change, build consensus, and drive organizational efficiency
- Working Hours:
Mon-Fri; 7:30am – 4:30pm
