The Recovery Aide Youth Crisis Stabilization provides services to youth with serious emotional disturbance within a sub-acute crisis stabilization unit. Provides support and instruction as needed and assist treatment team members in implementing individualized recovery plans. Completes household duties such as cooking, as well as cleaning, to ensure safety and compliance with licensure regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Ensure a clean and safe environment by performing such tasks as house cleaning, grocery shopping, meal planning and preparation, as well as fire drills and fire extinguisher checks.
- Participate in the activities of a self-directed team, and as needed, assigned or scheduled, to attend meetings, and trainings events.
- Maintain, administer and document medications in accordance with written physician’s orders and regulatory standards, and to maintain current certification in the Board’s approved medication training program, and to observe persons for potential side effects of medications and to notify appropriate staff if necessary.
- Administer basic first aid as needed and maintain current certification in CPR, First Aid and other training required by supervisor.
- Assist with answering phone calls, taking referrals, and entering data into Credible. Assist with administrative intake paperwork.
- Appropriately intervene in crisis situations and emergencies, making referrals and seeking consultation from other team members as needed.
- Will complete other job tasks as assigned by Program Manager.
- Ability to interact with people in a supportive and therapeutic manner
- Knowledge of the nature of mental health, mental retardation, and substance abuse disorders
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Must be able to work independently and with supervision available at broadly spaced intervals
Valid Driver's License and copy of DMV safe driving record
