As a Compressor Mechanic III, your role involves expert assembly, diagnosis, and repair of complex mechanical systems, with minimal supervision. You will lead troubleshooting efforts, perform predictive and reactive maintenance, and ensure equipment reliability across multiple sites. Responsibilities include thorough documentation, identifying failure patterns, contributing to process improvements, and occasionally leading small projects or teams. Strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental protocols is required, including emergency response and safe work practices.

Responsibilities- Assembles and disassembles mechanical systems independently; begins handling reactive maintenance and minor repairs
- Conducts diagnostic tests and identifies common functionality issues
- Operates and troubleshoots engines, pumps, and compressors with moderate supervision
- Maintains detailed logs and reports spills or leaks
- Maintains general knowledge of site/location/equipment and permitting
- Collaborates with others to discover solutions to technical or operational problems
- Follows all Company policies and applies appropriate operating and maintenance for routine procedures
- Other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma/GED and minimum three (3) years of demonstrated ability as a lease operator or operations technician / similar role
- Preferred:
Associates or two (2) year technical degree and minimum two (2) years of multifaceted Lease operations technician experience in the oil and gas industry
- Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills
- Must be willing to:
- Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises and in enclosed spaces
- Carry or lift items up to 50 lbs and team lift loads of more than 50 lbs as needed
- Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat, often for long periods of time
- Work at elevated levels, potentially from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and/or small towers, with appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment)
- Use hand tools
- Available to work after hours, on-call rotations, nights, weekend shifts and holidays as the need arises
- May be required to work overtime, 10-12 hour shifts and travel between Williams locations with occasional overnight stays

The Compressor Mechanic III serves as a senior-level technician responsible for leading complex maintenance, diagnostics, and overhauls of natural gas compression systems in upstream operations. This role requires expert-level mechanical knowledge, mentoring of junior mechanics, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards while optimizing equipment reliability and performance.
