Automation Technician

Responsibilities

Automation / Instrumentation

• Install, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot instrumentation and control systems
• Work with PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, sensors, transmitters, and control panels
• Perform loop checks, signal verification, and commissioning support
• Diagnose and correct issues related to instrumentation, automation, and communications systems
• Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities
• Read and interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and control schematics
• Document work performed, test results, and system changes
• Support continuous improvement of automation and control processes

• Electrician
• Install, maintain, and repair industrial electrical systems and equipment
• Perform troubleshooting on power distribution, motors, MCCs, panels, and controls
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, one-lines, and blueprints
• Perform electrical testing and inspections to ensure safe operation
• Support preventive maintenance programs and equipment upgrades
• Ensure work complies with electrical codes, standards, and safety procedures
• Complete documentation related to maintenance and repairs

• General Responsibilities
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and permit systems
• Participate in job safety analyses and hazard identification
• Communicate effectively with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams
• Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports
• Support outage, shutdown, and turnaround activities as required

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Relevant technical training or trade certification preferred
• Demonstrated experience in Automation/Instrumentation or industrial electrical work
• Strong understanding of industrial safety practices and lockout/tagout procedures
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in industrial processing or production facilities
• Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, control systems, or industrial networking (for A/I roles)
• Journeyman or equivalent electrical certification (for Electrician roles)
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs
• Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting

Pay:
Candidate will be asked to give their desired pay per hour
