Position Overview

The job of the Electrical Planer Technician is to assemble panels, unit wiring of the machinery, test and troubleshoot. Electrical Technicians are responsible for fabrication of quality electrical panels, as well as the wiring of all full chiller or heat pumps.

Job Duties
  • The Panel Shop Technician collaborates with a team of panel builders along with the management staff.
  • The Technician is responsible for assembling electronic components, subassemblies, products, or systems: follows sample assemblies, receive verbal instructions, and follow wiring diagrams.
  • Position and align parts in specified relationship to each other in enclosure.
  • Responsible for crimp connectors, screws, bolts, to join or secure parts in place, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment.
  • Mounts assembled components to enclosure sub panels.
  • Connect component lead wires to wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, or terminals using hand tools.
  • Learn the functionality of all common components and their proper use.
  • Safely operate a variety of tools and machinery in the assembly of products
  • Help to train lower-level technicians when required.
  • Maintain professional behavior and proper communication with internal and external contacts, including company employees, managers, and outside vendors.
  • Must understand the details of assembly drawings.
  • Successfully complete requested training classes and maintain all necessary safety certificates.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and hazard free.
  • Effectively utilize the Microsoft office suite.
  • Work in a team environment.
  • Effectively manage time and follow directions.
  • Checks and responds to all company communications on all scheduled workdays, including voice mail, emails, and text messages.
  • Complies with all applicable Loenbro safety requirements and work procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work in tight and closed spaces.
  • Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Working outside most of the time with potential exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures.
  • Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to both get in and out of trenches and up to elevated platforms (scaffolding at significant heights).
  • Lifting necessary equipment and materials 1-50 pounds, 50% of the time monthly for required tasks.
  • Walking on uneven terrain, with an average of two miles per day.
  • Use of respirator if position requires.
  • Potential or periodic amounts of time for the following:
    • Sit, stoop, crawl, stand, and kneel.
  • If driving is required, a valid driver’s license and proof of insurability will be required. All drivers are subject to a DMV background records search.
Skills/Qualifications
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
  • Ability to collaborate with other Technicians in a professional manner.
  • Competent with the use of hand tools, i.e., jigsaw, drills, wrenches, screwdrivers
  • Competent with the use of electrical test equipment, i.e., Multi meter
