Overview

We are looking for a Seasonal Sommelier for the Brush Creek Ranch Luxury Collection. The Seasonal Sommelier is an ambassador of the wine program, focused on enhancing the guest experience in order to maintain high standards of quality and service while maximizing profits. They are responsible for assisting the Wine Director and the Head Sommelier with the wine program and working dinner service.

They will report directly to the Wine Director.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Wine Director to create and maintain an enticing wine program that enhances the guest experience
  • Actively engage in service and lead with a hands-on approach
  • Maintain and update the wine list in coordination with the Wine Director
  • Ensure no ‘86’d’ wines on the wine list or the inclusive BTG offerings, restocking as necessary and being strategic with wine pars and inventory
  • Provide guests with a memorable experience by offering guidance and suggestions of and beverage selections
  • Ensure all wines and spirits are presented and served correctly and all pouring techniques are adhered to as specified by company standards and the Wine Director
  • Train FOH staff on available BTG and inclusive offerings
  • Assist in preparing for and performing monthly inventory
  • Assist other properties in regards to wine service when asked
  • Oversee opening and closing shift duties of FOH staff and wine duties, when needed, including closing paperwork and shift recap
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1-year previous sommelier experience in fine dining or similar luxury multioutlet property
  • Food & Beverage management experience preferred
  • Extensive knowledge pertaining to all aspects of wine growing, wine production, wine styles and regional wine laws from around the world
  • Flexibility to travel between the Ranch food and beverage outlets
  • Available to work weekends, nights and holidays as business dictates
  • Reliable, organized, efficient, courteous, professional, curious and a team player
  • Provide an excellent guest experience that builds long term guest relationships
  • Maintain a clean and healthy personal hygiene and grooming
  • WSET, Court of Master Sommeliers or similar accreditation preferred
