Central, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, and Southeast U.S. (fieldwork available in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin)
ECT, a growing provider of cultural resources services, is committed to developing a strong pool of skilled, career-minded, on-call archaeological field technicians to address a significant backlog of fieldwork spanning the 2026 field season. ECT uses its on-call program to evaluate archaeological field technicians for full-time staff positions.
Job Description- Participate in Phase I, II, and III archaeological investigation
- Collect data using Esri Field Maps and Survey 123 applications
- Prepare detailed field notes, including plan and profile drawings
- Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a closely related field
- Archaeological field school experience preferable
- Preference given to those with prior CRM experience
- Non-degreed applicants with significant field experience and knowledge will also be considered
- Must be able to walk up to five miles per day in sloped, heavily vegetated, or difficult terrain while carrying a 15-pound pack
- Working in inclement weather conditions will be required
- Demonstrated work reliability
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and access to reliable transportation
- Willingness and availability to travel, as needed
- Work is on-call, as needed. Acceptance into the qualified field technician pool/job offer is not a guarantee of hours, but the backlog is significant
- $20.00 to $30.00/hour, commensurate with experience
- Paid travel time to and from the project
- Individual hotel rooms
- Per diem and mileage reimbursed at the GSA rate with no receipts unless otherwise stipulated by contract or client
- Overtime in excess of 40 hours/week compensated at 1.5 × hourly rate
