• Direct, coordinate, prepare, and supervise food preparation for meals within menu guidelines, dietary requirements, appearance, taste, temperature, and sanitation standards.
• Train workers in safety and sanitation.
• Prepare all religious and medically necessary diets and substitutions as needed.
• Direct the portioning and serving of all meals.
• Oversee distribution of bulk food and pre‑plated meals.
• Ensure that health guidelines are met in the daily preparation of food.
• Manage inventory and review daily items.
• Complete daily inventories of knives, controlled food items, and tools.
• Observe and record food, refrigerator, and freezer temperatures.

• Knowledge of kitchens and warehouses.
• Knowledge of food service equipment operation.
• Knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations and universal knowledge of inventory tracking.

Education & Experience Substitution: 2–4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Food Services) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Food Services Assistant.

Education:

Associate’s Degree (typically in Culinary Arts).

Experience:

0–1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Food Services) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Food Services Assistant.

• Ability to lift, carry, and push 50 pounds.
• Will be required to drive a delivery truck.
• Work evenings and weekends.

• Pre‑employment drug and alcohol testing will be conducted on safety‑sensitive positions. Drug testing will be completed on any position if reasonable suspicion exists.
• A background check, including fingerprints, will be completed through the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation, the Department of Family Services, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for every successful applicant.
• A current Influenza Vaccination is required.
• Employees of this facility will be expected to follow all rules and requirements established by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services regarding COVID‑19.
• Wyoming State Hospital uses E‑Verify to confirm the eligibility of all newly hired employees to work in the United States.
