GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
As a Public Health Nurse in Converse County, you’ll be at the forefront of promoting health and preventing disease within your community. Public Health Nursing is a specialized field that goes beyond traditional patient care—it’s about fostering wellness and resilience across populations. In this role, you’ll work closely with individuals, families, and groups to identify health needs, provide essential healthcare services, and connect people with valuable health resources.

Essential FunctionsThe listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed in the job level.
- Conduct nursing assessments, diagnoses, treatments, and evaluations in line with ANA's Public Health Nursing Standards.
- Arrange and lead community health clinics and health education classes.
- Support public health core functions, prioritizing services that meet community needs.
- Administer adult and child vaccines, provide STI/HIV testing, manage TB testing, and more.
- Provide Ryan White case management, maternal and child home visitation, lactation counseling, and LT-101 reviews.
- Collaborate with the nurse manager and public health response coordinator on emergency preparedness activities.
Preferences:
Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Wyoming. A valid driver's license is required.
- Knowledge of laws, principles, practices, and techniques of professional nursing.
- Knowledge of medical records, charts, reports, and observations.
- Knowledge of nursing process and scientific process.
- Knowledge of applying medical diagnosis and treatment to patient care.
