Overview
Department of Workforce Services in Casper is seeking a Claims Specialist who thrives on precision, problem-solving, and professional advocacy to join our team. As a subject matter expert in administrative law appeals, you will bridge complex legal processes and the people who need them, exercising independent judgment to ensure every claimant and employer receives exceptional customer service.
You will work with a dedicated, vibrant team to facilitate the administrative law hearing process and leverage expert knowledge to ensure justice and efficiency for the citizens of Wyoming.
Responsibilities- Leading the process: acquiring, analyzing, and processing claims appeals at a subject matter expert level.
- Facilitating justice: processing appeals and drafting critical documents when needed.
- Empowering the public: answering complex questions from claimants and employers regarding unemployment insurance.
- Collaborating with experts: working closely with Hearing Officers and claims staff to determine jurisdictional issues and prepare parties for hearings.

- Leading the Process:
Acquiring, analyzing, and processing claims appeals at a subject matter expert level. - Facilitating Justice:
Process appeals and help draft critical documents, when needed. - Empowering the Public:
Answering complex questions from claimants and employers regarding unemployment insurance. - Collaborating with Experts:

PREFERENCE: Preference may be given to those with good customer service experience, detail-oriented, multi-task capable, and able to prioritize. Preference may be given to those with strong oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge- Navigate Complex Frameworks:
Understanding federal and state laws, codes, and policies to ensure a solid legal foundation for each case. - Administrative Law Expert:
Knowledge of processes and procedures related to administrative law and unemployment insurance. - Compliance Champion:
Understanding regulations governing employment programs to maintain high standards. - Evidence-Driven Research:
Using research methods to uncover facts and clarify complex appeals. - Operational Architect:
Knowledge of process workflows and peer-review practices to keep the Appeals Section moving smoothly. - Elite Customer Service:
Providing a high level of support guiding claimants and employers through the appeals process with clarity and empathy. - Precision Record-Keeping:
Documenting hearings with accuracy.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree
EXPERIENCE: 0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Benefits and Eligibility) OR 3-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Benefits and Eligibility)
