To fulfill the educational requirements of students with disabilities as outlined by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) through the development and implementation of the individualized education plan (IEPs) for students with learning, mental, emotional, and physical disabilities by meeting each student’s academic, social, behavioral, and functional needs, by fostering positive relationships with colleagues through professional collaboration and active participation in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and engaging parents with meaningful communication to support student success.
QualificationsAt a minimum, candidates must hold or be eligible for certification by the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board endorsed in the content area as required per certification.

Exempt - Salary: $63,070to $103,270

Building Principal of assigned school or a designated by Director of Special Services
- Work across all levels to provide appropriate speech-language services for students eligible for services under IDEA, and or part of Child Find activities.
- Work with students exhibiting the full range of disabilities (from mild or moderate to severe and/or multiple disorders).
- Provide services on an individual, small-group, or classroom basis.
- Provide extended school year or extended school day services as needed
- Collaborate with and train other professionals and parents to facilitate students' academic, communication, and social skills in an educational environment.
- Complete documentation as required by federal, state, and local agencies.
- Write reports and participate in annual review conferences.
- Serve as consultants to other educators and related professionals.
- Supervise interns, practicums, and student teachers, as assigned
- As assigned, supervise special education pararpofessionals, by providing programming direction, developing growth goals, and communicating periodical feedback.
Working knowledge of the functions of the school setting to include district policies, procedures and strategic plan as well as general duties of an educational professional to include but not limited to supervision of students, child development, managing student health plans, and implementing district safety practices.
General Knowledge IDEA, ADA Section 504, Wyoming rules, and district policies and procedures that govern the operation of special education programs and services provided to students with disabilities.
