Salary Range
: $40,289.17 to 43,387.03
Job Summary
:
This position performs administrative duties in support of Public Works operations.

MAJOR DUTIES:
- Answers phones; greets visitors; provides information and assistance; takes messages; refers to appropriate personnel; makes appointments and travel arrangements.
- Schedules and attends department meetings, workshops, and trainings appropriate for the position.
- Composes reports, correspondence, and memoranda, copies, and binds reports.
- Sets up spreadsheets and templates for office staff; updates spreadsheets to include current permit applications and progress.
- Establishes, maintains, and updates filing systems.
- Maintains inventory of office supplies; oversees maintenance of office equipment.
- Attends meetings as necessary to record proceedings, compiles notes into meeting minutes for official record and distribution.
- Makes copies of public documents for the general public and collects fees for documents provided.
- Records, sorts, and distributes mail.
- Assists with coordination efforts for public meetings; may include finding meeting locations, copying, advertising, mailings, notifying applicants/public as required.
- Develop and issue media releases to the public.
- Maintains department personnel files including leave time records and processes employee timesheets.
- Assists County Engineer with grant applications.
- Assists with departmental items on the website.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION:
- Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of personal computers and job-related software programs.
- Skill in the provision of customer services.
- Skill in analyzing problems and identifying solutions.
- Skill in establishing cooperative and productive working relationships.
- Skill in performing mathematical calculations.
- Skill in operating computers and other standard office equipment.
- Skill in interpersonal relations.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
