On August 4, 2025, we opened Sublette County’s first hospital – a historic milestone for our community and a new era in local healthcare.

As part of our growth, Heritage Home – our Skilled Nursing facility – is expanding to its new home with a 40‑bed Skilled Nursing Unit and a brand‑new 10‑bed Memory Care Unit, designed to provide compassionate, resident‑centered care.

Summary Description

The Emergency Room Nurse acts as an integral part of the health care team. The ER nurse is devoted to the delivery of Emergency and emergent care in the Emergency room setting with a focus on delivery of quality patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The ER RN is responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards.

The ER RN collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Must possess the ability to utilize the process in the provision of nursing care including but not limited to administering treatments and medications in compliance with the physician’s orders and applicable hospital policy, interpreting diagnostic tests, assessing and reassessing patients, and formulating plans of care within the nursing scope of practice.
  • Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required, and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Effectively uses triage processes to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients; accurately assigns triage categories.
  • Performs patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patient’s age, developmental status, mental and/or physical abilities.
  • Ability to assess and reassess pain; utilize appropriate pain‑management techniques and educate the patient and family regarding pain management.
  • Administers medication as ordered by health care provider while abiding by state licensure practices and maintaining proper documentation in the patient record. Demonstrates knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age or.
  • Communicates appropriately and clearly to Nurse Manager, co‑workers, and physicians.
  • Possesses the ability to assess data reflective condition and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s needs.
  • Must possess the ability to document/chart observations and other data related to the clinical condition of the meets current standards and policies.
  • Accurately communicates report of patient status to the transfer teams, transfer‑receiving facilities, admission to hospital, or following shift to ensure adequate continuation of care throughout the patient transfer or stay.
  • Supervises and delegates tasks to the CNA’s and other staff as needed for patient care.
  • Assists health care providers with examinations and treatment procedures. Obtains laboratory samples in accordance with policies and procedures to ensure correct sample, correct identification of sample, and correct testing ordered. Assists radiology with transport of patient for imaging if the level of care requires nursing care or interventions.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform treatments and provide services to level of licensure.
