The 12v Electrical Technician I will route wires for the fire apparatus equipment as directed by wire diagrams and other technical drawings. They will be required to install 12v accessories such as sensors and lights. The Electrical Technician will also be expected to fabricate boxes, mounts, and other equipment required to complete the electrical installation according to the blueprint.

• Basic hand tools

• Wire stripper/crimper
• Utility knife
• Multimeter

Knowledge (K)

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Knowledge of DC electrical equipment.
• 6 months or related experience required.

Skills (S)

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Abilities (A)

• Knowledge of basic inspection tools, machining skills or related fields.
• Able to recognize the importance and adhere to all safety policies to promote a safe working environment.
• Able to read and work from blueprints/spec book.
• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
