Position details- Casual position – 0.01 FTE (Flexible scheduling, pick up shifts as the department and you have available!)
- Day/evening/night shift
- This position supports both our Fairview Lakes Medical Center in Wyoming, MN and Fairview Northland Hospital in Princeton, MN. Employees will be expected to pick up shifts there to support schedule needs.
- Survey the hospital through patrols and post at entrances to detect potential threats and take action to deter emergency situations and maintain a safe environment.
- Monitor calls to Security Services, support as necessary, and respond with clear communication and a team‑oriented approach.
- Aid patients, visitors, contractors, and staff entering the facility and verify their identity and permissions to enter as needed.
- Assist in the de‑escalation and/or physical control of potentially violent individuals with strength, stamina, flexibility, and critical thinking.
- Maintain knowledge of, and comply with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
- Provide quality care and service that respects developmental and cultural differences of populations served.
- Cultivate a culture of improvement, efficiency, and innovative thinking.
- Document daily activities and safety incidents in the reporting system(s).
- Other responsibilities as needed/assigned.
- Associate’s degree & 1 year of security, military, or law‑enforcement experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 2 years of security, military, or law‑enforcement experience
- Valid Class D driver’s license and DMV record that meets M Health Fairview insurability requirements as vital for the job.
- Hospital security experience
- Pass pre‑assignment training within probationary period
- Certified Peace Officer (POST)
- Emergency Medical Technician Basic (EMT‑B)
