Job Summary
Lead and manage a team responsible for executing CAE DVP&R (Design Verification Plan and Report) and virtual validation activities, provide technical leadership and insight in design and analysis. The manager will work closely with technical leads to align execution with product and platform strategies, while focusing on removing obstacles, fostering collaboration, and driving high-performing CAE teams.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Lead and develop a global team of CAE engineers, fostering innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Remove roadblocks and enable technical leaders to deliver effectively.
- Partner with core technical leaders to align execution with product and platform strategies.
- Understand technology trends at a working level to support team direction and strategic planning.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with program management, technical leaders, product owners, and vehicle teams to ensure successful delivery of CAE solutions.
- Drive team performance through coaching, mentoring, and developing future leaders.
- Manage staffing, hiring, and resource planning aligned with business needs.
- Act as signatory at key milestone meetings in the stage gate process.
- Collaborate with Physical Test and Validation team to ensure CAE correlation and virtual validation process development.
- Manage the department annual budget, quarterly forecasting, and financial strategy related to CAE activities.
- Work with Analysis Methods team to establish engineering best practices, including process adherence and tool usage. Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies and methods to enhance performance and efficiency.
- Cultivate an innovative culture, driving automation and continuous improvement efforts to improve CAE Execution operation efficiency.
- Prepare and manage resource planning, reporting, and presentations for leadership visibility.
- Skilled with CAE Software Suites like Ansys, Altair Hyperworks, MSC Hexagon, 1D Tools required.
- Experience with phase gate product development process highly recommended.
- Strong overall knowledge of the vehicle development process, including experimental correlation and product validation. Strong working knowledge of product safety and quality.
- Strong problem-solving skills adapting tools for data-based decision-making.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
- Team player, with the ability to work with several design teams concurrently and across multiple sites. Communicate across global cross-functional design teams.
- 5+ years of experience in CAE, with at least 3 years leading global engineering teams.
- B.S. Engineering required

The starting pay range for Minnesota is $123,000 to $162,000 per year. Individual salaries and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors, it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range.
To qualify for this position, former employees must be eligible for rehire, and current employees must be in good standing.
