PositionSummary
The Electrical Engineer will design, develop, and test the electrical systems related to firetrucks. Electrical engineering is responsible for turning ideas for products into functional prototypes and eventual production. The position will support advanced engineering designs, production designs, and issue evaluation and resolution using engineering tools with efficient and affordable processes.
Essential Functions- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
- Experience working with automotive electronics required.
- 3+ years working with automotive electronics preferred.
- Product data management utilizing CAD and PDM systems preferred.
- Experience with vehicle electric DC & AC generation and supply preferred.
- Experience with J1939 or other CAN bus protocols and wiring preferred.
- Knowledge and application of design for manufacturing and design for service preferred.
- Knowledge of firefighting processes and equipment preferred.
- Able to find, read, and interpret relevant scientific and technical documentation and standards.
- Able to actively participate in engineering discussions by listening, asking relevant questions, and suggesting solutions to problems.
- Able to follow written and verbal directions and communicate new information that could affect project trajectories.

- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Suite required.
