Automotive Journeyman Mechanic

Job Description

Seeking a reliable Automotive Technician to join our outstanding fleet maintenance team. The Automotive Technician will be responsible for maintaining a diverse range of equipment, including delivery vehicles, heavy‑duty on‑road tractors, and trailers from various manufacturers. Propulsion systems include diesel, gasoline, and alternative technologies such as compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, propane, hybrid, and electrical in some locations.

Job Type: Full‑time – Permanent (with guaranteed wage progression)

Work Location: 5757 Clyde Park Avenue SW, Wyoming, MI 49509, United States of America

Shift: 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM (Second or third shifts, including Monday‑Friday, Sunday‑Thursday or Tuesday‑Saturday depending on location needs)

Pay: $39.31 per hour

• Meet Department of Transportation requirements required by the job assignment.
• Perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing ladders and stairs, standing, walking, and turning/pivoting frequently throughout the workday.
• Perform simple and power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, and reaching from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary to complete assigned tasks.
• Operate standard and manual transmissions.
• Operate power and pneumatic tools.

• Active driver’s license issued by the state.
• Willingness to work second or third shifts, including Monday‑Friday, Sunday‑Thursday, or Tuesday‑Saturday schedules.
• Possession of the required hand tools to perform the job assignment.

• Current documented automotive mechanical experience.
• Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and personal computer.
• Full complement of personal hand tools.
• Class A/B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) – Required.
• Dependable with ability to report to work on a regular and timely basis and complete scheduled workday consistently.
• Available for varying shifts, additional hours and/or overtime depending on service needs.
• Wears personal protective equipment as required.
• Works in an environment with variable temperatures and humidity, exposure to cleaning materials, petroleum products, dust, dirt, and noise, outside inclement weather, etc.
• Works cooperatively in a diverse work environment.
• Effectively communicates through sight, hearing, and/or other means to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions.
