Northstar Innovations is looking for an Accounting Intern.
Accounting Interns have the opportunity to learn and gain first‑hand experience in an accounting department that supports West Michigan Community Bank, Northstar Bank and Mainstreet Community Bank.
Job Duties &Responsibilities include:
- Assist with the accounts payable process, including:
- Scan invoices and gather proper approval prior to payment
- Input invoices for payment
- Accurately enter new vendors
- Monitor and maintain AP email
- Print and mail checks
- Daily general ledger balancing duties, including:
- Correspondent bank reconciliations
- Perform general ledger account reconciliations
- Research and resolve outages related to general ledger transactions
- Review internal DDA activity
- Preparation of journal entries
- Balance internal and external reports to general ledger
- Communicate with other departments to support job functions
- Download end of day reports to review for incoming and/or outgoing wire activity
- Assist in organization of electronic filing system
- Other projects as assigned to support the accounting team
Experience:
- Sophomore class standing preferred.
- Accounting or Finance student preferred.
