Are you detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about keeping production on track? We’re looking for a Planner to play a key role in ensuring customer demands are met through effective scheduling and resource management. In this role, you’ll analyze and interpret MRP data, release and maintain production orders, and collaborate closely with manufacturing teams, customer service, and project managers. You’ll also manage build plans, monitor inventory levels, and support continuous improvement initiatives to keep operations running smoothly.

Representative Responsibilities
  • MRP/Schedule orders based on customer needs, availability of parts and a defined stocking level or build plan
  • Analyze and interpret MRP to release production orders to manufacturing
  • Create and reschedule production orders as required
  • Create and maintain build plans for production as needed
  • Set up Sub-contracting Orders when applicable
  • Set up Purchase Orders when applicable
  • Monitor production orders for correct receipts and issues daily
  • Communicate with Systems Group, Customer Service, and Project Managers for schedule of customer orders to ensure customer demands are met
  • Ensures shortages are communicated and are being expedited if needed. Affected production rescheduled accordingly. Will elevate unresolved issues to management
  • Meets with Team Leads and Manufacturing Managers to analyze labor issues within the department
  • Follow the release process for “make to order” units
  • Provide production drawings as needed
  • Review drawings and sales orders or intercompany PO’s
  • Print customer labels for the product
  • Update Production order Bills of Materials (BOM) adjusting when necessary
  • Review costing and maintain cost rolls as needed.
  • Maintain manufacturing routings
  • With the aid of Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Managers and Team Leads, update labor times to stay current with the changes on the shop floor
  • Assign components to the correct operations based on their bin location
  • Set up and maintain Phantom parts as needed
  • Work with QA on defects and timely replacements
  • Review engineering change orders that relate to your product. Identifying any obsolete or stranded materials, requests cost re-rolls as needed
  • Work with the Master Production Scheduler when phase in/phase outs are used in the BOM’s
  • Evaluate Safety Stock levels quarterly
  • Evaluate Maximum Stock Level reports and cuts orders to ensure we are at the correct levels
  • Is an active member prior to, during and after a cycle count within their respective departments
  • Assist the New Product Planner in the creation or routings and release of new products
  • Update and maintain work center information and schedules
  • Review and correct work order variances
  • Analyze cost roll information in preparation for the annual year end roll
  • MRP/MPS
  • Maintain Master Data information in SAP
  • Analyze and update existing forecasts not to exceed 4-6 weeks
  • Weekly maintenance of MRP/MPS by reviewing workload and orders
  • Assigned to special projects and requests
  • Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED and 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment which must include 1 year of processing inventory transactions and/or production orders or
  • High school diploma or GED and 2 years’ experience in customer service dealing with inventory issues or
  • Associates degree in a related field
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interpret assembly drawings and prints
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated organizational skills
  • Proactive, assertive and self-motivated
  • Strong problem solving and creative thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Strives to deliver ETC products and services at the highest level
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office - able to create basic spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel
