Maintenance Technician

Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Facilities & Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures, both owned and rented, in addition to performing grounds maintenance and light custodial duties to help keep facilities clean, safe, and welcoming. Maintenance
• Reports to the Facilities & Maintenance Manager

Perform general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures, both owned and rented, in addition to performing grounds maintenance and light custodial duties to help keep facilities clean, safe, and welcoming. The job duties listed below are representative of the position, are not all‑inclusive, and may be supervised by a number of different Gottsche staff members.

• Travel to other clinics on a rotational basis to perform maintenance, inspections, repairs and facility support.
• Performs minor building, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and painting repairs as necessary.
• Implements preventative maintenance measures.
• Maintains inventory of repair equipment and supplies.
• Completes inspections of offices and buildings.
• Assists with general facility cleaning and upkeep to ensure a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment. This may include sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and other routine custodial tasks as needed.
• Responds quickly in the event of an emergency, notifies appropriate personnel, and follows safety protocols.
• Performs other maintenance duties as requested.
• Assists with disaster/fire drills.
• Participates in HIPAA training and awareness programs and abides by all privacy and security rules as required by Federal Law under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996.
• Assists with other duties as assigned.

• Assists with facility fleet management and maintenance of vehicles.
• Periodically drives company vehicles and bus, ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of any patients or occupants in the vehicle.
• Provides safe and courteous transport of patients to and from appointments, facilities, and community locations as directed.
• Ensures proper use of mobility aids such as wheelchairs, walkers, or lifts during patient transfers.
• Ensures safety of patients while entering and exiting vehicles.
• Conducts pre‑trip safety checks of vehicles and reports any mechanical or safety concerns immediately.
• Maintains accurate transport logs and communicates effectively with staff regarding patient needs and schedules.

• Experience with a variety of maintenance equipment, i.e., snow blowers, lawn mowers, hand tools.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Prior education and experience in the maintenance field.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware and office technology systems preferred; light IT troubleshooting experience is a plus but not required.
• Ability to work well with minimal supervision.
• Ability to attend educational training and seminars.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and excellent computer skills.
• Exceptional ability to work with employees under fast‑paced working conditions.
• Must meet all requirements of Gottsche's automobile insurance carrier.
