Job Summary

Diagnose refrigeration and refrigeration equipment malfunctions and make repairs or modifications to electrical and mechanical apparatus to keep systems operating efficiently. Perform the equipment manufacturer’s suggested maintenance programs on a fixed schedule. You are expected to adhere to the company’s mission, vision and value statements and be knowledgeable of the company’s management systems, policies and initiatives for Hospitality, Environmental, and Health and Safety.

You have specific responsibilities within these areas and are expected to understand them.

Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of materials, equipment and tools required to perform routine tasks without delays
  • Carry out limited after-hours standby duties (paging beeper or two-way radio) on a rotating basis
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of all refrigerant gas, including purchases, usage per piece of equipment, and recycle/reclaim per EPA requirements
  • Support company environmental initiatives by maintaining equipment to maximize energy, water and fuel efficiency
  • Ensure all work is performed in a safe manner and in a safe environment
  • Observe all requirements for the GTLC Hazard Communication Program
  • Attend training and observe applicable OSHA and other regulatory programs and SOPs as required
  • Use all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as instructed
  • Supervise, organize and plan refrigeration maintenance and construction projects on a daily, weekly and monthly schedule
  • Be prepared to perform other technical work within the department when maintenance needs arise
  • Responsible for start-up and shutdown of all refrigerated equipment for the operating season
  • Clean up job site and work area upon task completion
  • Other duties as assigned by management
Job Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of refrigeration experience or equivalent (ice machines, commercial refrigeration and heating equipment)
  • Minimum 2 years of refrigeration experience or equivalent (duplicate line removed)
Preferred Skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend schematics
  • Systems troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Multiple fields of experience (kitchen, laundry, electrical, etc.)
