This is a support role within the Maintenance Department. The Maintenance Support person will help ensure the smooth running of maintenance operations by assisting with stock control, ordering, KPI updates, and keeping maintenance records accurate and up to date. Full training will be provided, including system training (Safety Culture), stock control processes and site compliance requirements within a regulated food manufacturing environment.

• Stock takes and maintenance stores control
• Ordering and tracking deliveries of parts and consumables
• Updating maintenance KPIs and reports
• Keeping all maintenance paperwork and records up to date
• Supporting preventative maintenance administration and close-out

Maintenance Stores & Stock Control

• Carry out regular stock takes and support accurate inventory control of spare parts and consumables.
• Monitor stock levels and flag low stock items to prevent shortages.
• Raise and track purchase orders, assist with supplier follow-up, and coordinate deliveries.
• Support organisation of stores areas, ensuring parts are clearly labelled and stored correctly.

Preventative Maintenance Support

• Support planned preventative maintenance (PPM) by ensuring planned tasks are scheduled, tracked and closed out.
• Assist with preparation of maintenance job packs or paperwork where required.

Reporting & Systems

• Accurately log maintenance activity using Safety Culture and/or the Maintenance Management System.
• Carry out basic data entry and record updates to ensure traceability and compliance.
• File and maintain maintenance documentation including:
  • Service reports
  • Contractor documentation
  • Inspection records
  • Equipment folders and compliance paperwork
• Support preparation of documentation for audits and internal checks as required.

• Assist with updating and maintaining key KPIs (e.g., PPM completion, work order status, downtime reporting).
• Work closely with the Maintenance Manager and wider team to gather information and support reporting.
• Support communication with other departments such as Production, Purchasing, and Quality when required.
• Follow all site safety rules, hygiene requirements and food safety standards at all times.
• Wear PPE as required and work safely in production and maintenance areas.
• Follow safe systems of work, SOPs and manual handling practices.

• Provide general support to the maintenance team in a busy environment, including assisting with changing priorities and urgent tasks.
• Any other reasonable duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.

• Good organisational skills and strong attention to detail
• Willingness to learn and follow procedures in a regulated environment
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Experience in manufacturing, maintenance, stores or administration
• Familiarity with Safety Culture or other systems

• Reliable, punctual and motivated
• Proactive with a “can-do” attitude
• Able to work independently
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with clear procedures
