- Applies skills learned during academic training, educational programs, and practical experience to treat patient/family needs
- Demonstrates competency in implementation of treatment plans. Documents appropriately. Evaluates effectiveness of plan and modifies as indicated, following consulting the Occupational Therapist
- Demonstrates good interpersonal skills when interacting with families, physicians, patients and others involved in a patient's care to promote an environment of cooperation and respect.
- Provides appropriate information at meetings such as team and family conferences, home health conferences, rehab clinic meetings and others as necessary
- Maintains current knowledge of therapy techniques appropriate to the patients at Gottsche Rehab Center through the attendance of in-service classes and the appropriate amount of continuing education as required by state licensure.
- Assists in appropriate treatments or portions thereof, assesses the accuracy, thoroughness and appropriateness of the care they provide and then provide feedback to the Department Head
- Seeks necessary information and input from staff, physicians and other health care professionals to ensure ongoing appropriate patient care.
- Has knowledge in the use of therapy devices including exercise tables, fitness equipment, assistive devices, wheelchairs, pulleys, weights and other equipment common to the practice of physical therapy
- Demonstrates an awareness of safety in all aspects of patient care.
