Position:
Registration/Admitting Clerk

As the Registration/Admitting Clerk, this position is responsible for attending to incoming patients regarding admission to the hospital, ensuring all information is correct, and ensuring patients are supported and understand the process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Promotes the mission, vision, and values of Weston County Health Services (WCHS).
  • Obtains referrals and pre-authorizations as required.
  • Explains regulations, such as visiting hours, payment of accounts, and schedule of charges.
  • Escorts patient or arranges for escort to assigned department.
  • Enters patient admitting information and ensures appropriate department has the patient information.
  • Maintains records as required.
  • Has the ability to deal effectively with patients and co-workers.
  • Coordinates with other departments to ensure efficiency.
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings and other assigned meetings.
  • Adheres to accreditation and compliance standard guidelines.
  • Utilizes good communication skills to maintain positive relationships with clients, providers, co-workers and other sections in the organization and with other facilities in the community.
