Occupational Therapy Assistant
Position Summary:
The Occupational Therapist Assistant supports licensed Occupational Therapists (OTs) in implementing treatment plans that help patients develop, recover, improve, and maintain daily living and work skills. The OTA works directly with clients to carry out therapeutic activities, document progress, and promote independence in everyday tasks.
- Implement Treatment Plans:
Carry out therapy interventions directed by the Occupational Therapist to improve patients' functional abilities. - Direct Patient Care:
Assist patients with therapeutic activities related to motor skills, self-care, cognitive skills, sensory integration, and adaptive techniques. - Monitor and Document Progress:
Record patient performance, responses to treatment, and any changes in condition; report findings to the supervising OT. - Maintain Equipment & Environment:
Prepare therapy areas, clean and maintain equipment, and ensure a safe, supportive treatment environment. - Educate Patients and Families:
Provide instruction on exercises, adaptive equipment use, home programs, and strategies for carrying over skills into daily life. - Collaborate with Team Members:
Communicate with OTs, nurses, physicians, social workers, and other rehab staff to support coordinated patient care. - Administrative Duties:
Assist with scheduling, documentation, supply inventory, and other tasks as assigned.

- Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant program
- NBCOT Certified upon hire
- Current state licensure or certification as required
- CPR/First Aid certification (preferred)
- Strong communication, observation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow treatment plans and work under OT supervision
