As a Senior Facilities Engineer, you will provide technical expertise and support to the LaBarge‑area Operating Organization across multiple engineering disciplines. In this role, you will also mentor and guide other engineers within the Wyoming Facilities Engineering team.
Facilities Engineers are assigned to both production field operations and gas processing facilities throughout the LaBarge development area. You will apply your knowledge of well production, gas treating, advanced gas processing, and small‑scale project management to drive operational excellence.
Success in this role requires a strong blend of technical competency, risk management, business acumen, and effective leadership and stakeholder engagement to support informed technical and business decisions.
This is a field‑based position located in Southwest Wyoming, serving the areas between LaBarge, Green River, and Evanston.
What you will doOperations Support
- Ensure engineering controls are in place to enable safe facility operations and compliance with applicable permits and regulations.
- Identify and characterize opportunities for improvement and investment through regular surveillance of facilities.
- Root cause failure analysis investigation participation, or leading of similar investigations.
- Interfaces with Operations & Maintenance personnel.
- Quantitative risk assessment methods.
- Develop and maintain close working relationships with Operations stakeholders.
- Liaison with safety, health, environmental, regulatory and compliance teams.
Project Management and Execution
- Steward small‑scale facilities modifications.
- Document proposed changes and stakeholder engagement via Management of Change processes.
- Evaluate and address risks associated with process changes (Risk Assessments, HAZOPs, asset integrity programs etc.).
- Maintain updated facility critical drawings and documents (P&IDs, C&Es, SLDs, etc.).
- Coordinate the effective consideration of new project business cases to drive "better decision‑making".
- Identify opportunities to optimize facility operation, de‑bottleneck, reduce OPEX.
- Develop and justify capital spend to support proposed facility upgrades.
- Define project scope, budget, procurement plan, risk management and accountability of spend on projects.
- Execute project from FEED to Operations handover.
Development and Stewardship of Surveillance Tools
- Ensure facility process supports accurate and compliant allocations.
- Develop tools to track and report key facility metrics.
- Maintain an understanding of relevant industry codes, standards, best practices, technologies and technical tools and incorporate into facility designs.
- Ensure facility process supports maximum value and risk management.
Engineering Leadership
- Leverage extensive engineering expertise and rich experiences to mentor and guide emerging engineers, fostering their growth and development.
- Evaluate innovative ideas and review drawings to assist young engineers in finding the optimal path forward.
- Actively engage in meetings to foster collaboration and generate actionable items. Support the team in driving these action items to successful completion.
