Position Summary: The Project Controls Engineer will have lead NI/EI civil cost responsibility for delivering project performance tracking and analysis, cost engineering, data validation and project change control for the Natrium project. This role collaborates with Terra Power management, engineering, and other functional groups, as well as subcontracted teams, to implement systems, applications and procedures for key project control processes to ensure effective monitoring and control of project outcomes.
Responsibilities- Responsible for monitoring, reporting, and review trending for all NI and EI Civil related construction cost issues.
- Utilize EVMS principles and other project management best practices to support the project team in the execution of defined scope and deliverables.
- Lead month-end Earned Value reporting process including assessment of BCWS, BCWP, ACWP, SPI, CPI, EAC, BAC, and VAC with variance reports as needed.
- Provide periodic budget requirement updates to Finance.
- Gather, analyze, verify cost and performance data, monitor work-in-place costs including procurement, subcontractor spend and accruals, and provide information to Terra Power Finance.
- Lead change control via Project Change Notices (PCNs) for changes affecting baseline budget, scope or schedule that exceed thresholds, and integrate changes into the P6 baseline and live schedule monthly.
- Support internal and external stakeholders with ad-hoc reports, analysis, and forecasting as required.
- Support project review meetings and planning, acting as the primary project controls point of contact with the project team.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent technical field (preferred).
- PMP or AACE certificate (highly preferred).
- Minimum of fifteen years of project controls and project scheduling experience, preferably in the nuclear industry including R&D, engineering and/or DOE O 413.3B projects.
- Proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6 and EPPM application (optional).
- Proficiency in MS Power BI Service and advanced MS Excel.
- Experience with Atlassian tools such as Confluence and JIRA (a bonus).
- Strong analytical/problem solving skills, creative thinker, with the ability to work autonomously.
- High integrity, open communication, teamwork orientation.
