Family and Consumer Science Teacher

Position Purpose

Under the general supervision of the School Principal, the Family and Consumer Science (FCS) Teacher facilitates student success and growth in academic and life skills through a district-approved curriculum. This is a shared teaching position between Lovell Middle School and Lovell High School. The teacher will create a supportive learning environment, address students' individual needs, and provide meaningful instruction that prepares students for real-world applications.

Essential Performance Responsibilities

* Develops and delivers Family and Consumer Science curriculum aligned with district objectives.

* Establishes a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment.

* Designs lesson plans that maximize instructional time and student learning.

* Assesses student progress and adjusts instruction as needed.

* Promotes responsible citizenship and career readiness.

* Maintains accurate records of student performance, grading, and attendance.

* Encourages parental involvement and fosters strong communication with families.

* Maintains student behavior expectations in alignment with school policies.

* Collaborates with colleagues and participates in faculty meetings and committees.

* Manages classroom materials, equipment, and inventory.

* Supervises students during school-related activities as necessary.

Additional Duties

Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal or Superintendent.

Travel Requirements

Must travel between Lovell Middle School and Lovell High School and attend professional meetings as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Understanding of current instructional methods and differentiated learning.

* Knowledge of middle and high school curriculum, including FCS-related subjects.

* Ability to integrate technology into instruction.

* Strong organizational, communication, and classroom management skills.

* Commitment to ongoing professional growth and collaboration.

Qualifications Profile

* Certification:
Wyoming State Teaching License with a 6-12 Family and Consumer Science Endorsement.

* Education:

Bachelor's degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education or related field.

* Experience:

Prior teaching experience preferred.

* Additional Requirements:

Valid driver's license or reliable transportation.
