Position: Full-Time Latin Instructor
Location: Midwest

Position Description

Clapham School, a PreK-12 classical Christian school in Wheaton, Illinois, seeks a full-time Latin teacher.

Primary Objectives:

  • To inspire students with an education that leads them to joyful discovery and increasing mastery of the Latin language
  • To promote a culture of love and delight for classical languages and antiquity

    • Principal Responsibilities:

  • Provide instruction in accordance with the school’s classical philosophy
  • Provide instruction using Charlotte Mason’s pedagogical techniques of narration, habit training, atmosphere, and a curriculum of living books and ideas
  • Teach and lesson plan for a variety of Latin levels, including a course that prepares students to take the A.P. Latin exam
  • Help students grow in habits of mind, heart, and body
  • Foster positive and collaborative relationships with the students and parents
  • Attend staff meetings and training days
