Qualitiesof a Successful Candidate
We are looking for a detail-oriented, creative thinker who values collaboration, possesses a strong understanding of design principles, and demonstrates proficiency in industry-standard graphic design software. The ideal candidate will also bring experience in web design, including an understanding of user experience (UX), responsive layouts, and designing for digital platforms. A keen eye for aesthetics, a passion for staying current with design trends, and a proven ability to translate conceptual ideas into visually compelling, effective designs that align with our brand identity and objectives are essential.
Key Responsibilities Graphic Design and Branding- Implement, execute and support the overarching brand/creative strategy for the schools and organization and oversee the production of all materials related to that strategy.
- Conceptualize new design strategies that support and align with communication plans for recruitment and retention campaigns.
- Ensure design continuity and brand integrity across all marketing incentives for the purpose of furthering the schools' visual brand and purpose.
- Interact with schools to understand their branding guidelines, preferences, and objectives, ensuring satisfaction.
- Design print materials (brochures, flyers, billboards, etc.) and digital content (social media images, website content, digital advertising, email graphics, etc.) Real past examples include: designing two-sided postcards for print; creating graphics for social media highlighting teachers and staff; illustrating a story for our bi-monthly newsletter; creative visuals for our HR team; designing billboard campaigns for teacher recruitment.
- Create event print and digital invitations, graphics, materials and collateral.
- Design and coordinate school signage, including roadside signs, internal signage and building signage.
- Brand documents for a variety of departments, including curriculum, HR, operations and business development.
- Research and maintain strong relationships with vendors for print materials across the state.
- Stay updated on best practices within the multimedia/graphic communication profession and maintain contact with appropriate professional organizations to maximize the results of our work and meeting objectives.
- Lead, improve, and maintain websites, including the resource page, for all schools and Choice programs within the organization.
- Support website redesigns and transitions, including migrating, updating, and organizing content for new sites.
- Ensure all websites are engaging, featuring user-centered, captivating content that promotes the organization's and schools' mission and values.
- Guarantee that all websites comply with accessibility standards and best practices for inclusivity, following the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) compliance standards and levels.
- Regularly review and update website and resource page content to ensure it remains accurate, relevant, and error-free.
- Implement user-friendly design principles, optimizing the user experience (UX) and navigation on all websites.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including the HR/Comms Directors, to gather and update website content.
- Regularly sweep all school and Choice websites to keep content up-to-date and relevant, including calendars, enrollment dates, etc.
- Develop interactive elements on websites, such as forms, surveys, and multimedia content, to engage visitors.
- Perform routine website maintenance, including updates, backups, and security checks, alongside our web vendor.
- Monitor website performance and troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise, ensuring optimal functionality.
- Optimize meta tags, headings, and other on-page elements to make websites more search engine-friendly and improve organic search rankings.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging web technologies to enhance website features and performance.
- Engage on our social media pages to ensure we are staying updated on the latest news, events, and happenings within our organization.
- Create appealing emails for internal and external newsletters and announcements, including motion graphics, banners, headers, and much more.
- Maintain an online archive that includes photos, school and district logos, and images optimized for website use, social media use and other platforms for the purpose of greater efficiency and organization.
